The Jaguar's best-selling game, and the only title that ever functioned as a genuine reason to buy the hardware.

Three campaigns, three genuinely different games. The Colonial Marine campaign is survival horror — limited ammo, a ticking motion tracker, corridors you don't want to enter. The Predator is the apex hunter with cloaking and thermal vision. The Alien has no weapons at all, only claws, a tail, and every surface including ceilings. Rebellion built a maze-crawler with real atmosphere on hardware that mostly produced flat, characterless 3D, and the idea of three asymmetric campaigns with different rulesets took the industry another decade to properly explore.

The number is the story: 52,223 copies by April 1, 1995, and possibly around 80,000 lifetime — against roughly 125,000 consoles sold. Something like two of every three Jaguar owners bought this game. Nothing else on the platform comes close.

Before you buy

Moderately common but consistently in demand — the Alien and Predator licenses pull buyers from outside the Jaguar audience, which firms up pricing. Medium counterfeit risk as values rise: common enough that repros weren't historically worth making, but worth a PCB glance above typical comps. Play the Marine campaign first, in the dark.
