About Cybermorph
Cybermorph was the first game released for Atari's Jaguar console. It's a 3D sci-fi shoot-'em-up. The story goes like this: The evil Pernitia Empire is swallowing up the galaxy's planets left and right. What's worse, the resistance forces have had their secret weapons stolen from them and put into pods spread out on many different planets. You must pilot the T-Griffon morphing attack craft to each planet and recover the pods to stop the Pernitians. So, in each planet, or level, you must collect a certain number of pods and make it to the exit before the enemies shoot you down. Fortunately, there are power-ups that can strategically enhance the T-Griffon's offensive capabilities. After clearing 8 planets, you take on a boss creature/ship before moving on to the next sector. There are 4 levels like this to clear, each with progressively increasing difficulty.

Cybermorph is a shooter video game developed by Attention to Detail (ATD) and published by Atari Corporation as the pack-in game for the Atari Jaguar in North America on November 23, 1993, and Europe in June 1994. It was also distributed in Japan by Mumin Corporation as a stand-alone release. Taking place in a galactic war, the player pilots the morphing attack fighter TransmoGriffon to battle against the Pernitia empire, who have conquered planets on multiple sectors and whose regenerative robotic technology become entrenched into the planets. The player is tasked with recapturing critical pods, while facing against enemies and bosses, across five sectors in order to defeat the empire.

The most-owned and least-wanted cartridge on the platform — and the first impression the Jaguar never recovered from.
Cybermorph shipped in the box with essentially every Jaguar sold. It's a free-roaming polygon shooter — genuinely uncommon open 3D space for 1993 — with a short draw distance disguised by fog, and a guidance AI named Skylar who responds to failure with "Where did you learn to fly?", delivered with contempt, forever. It is the most-quoted line in Jaguar history and did more damage to the console's reputation than any review. Star Fox had just shipped on hardware Atari's marketing claimed to quadruple, and reviewers made the comparison immediately.
Attention to Detail redeemed themselves with Battlemorph on the Jaguar CD — everything this game reached for, achieved.
Before you buy
Effectively worthless loose, but the variant matters: launch-bundle copies shipped UNBOXED by design, so a "CIB Cybermorph" is the later standalone retail release — which sold worse than any other normally-distributed Jaguar game and carries a real premium boxed. Cybermorph shells are also among the most common donors for repro carts: adhesive ghosting on a suspect high-value cart often traces back to one of these.
