Fueled by a nitro-burning, 64-bit graphics engine, PowerDrive Rally delivers the sights, sounds and the chaotic intensity of pure Rally racing. You'll actually see the skid marks and icicles fly as you tear across the Italian countryside. Hear the gears grind and your navigator sneer as you rip through the Arizona desert. Feel the heart palpitations and adrenaline overload as you bury the needle along the dust-choked African plains.

It is a conversion of the 1994 racing game Power Drive, which was released on multiple platforms. The best racing game on the Jaguar, and it isn't close — because it refused to attempt 3D.

Every other Jaguar racer attempted behind-the-car 3D and got destroyed by framerate. Rage Software's top-down rally game doesn't try: the overhead view runs smoothly, communicates speed properly, and lets a genuinely good handling model do the work — rally driving is weight transfer and controlled slides, and this game understands that. There's real structure too: a career with vehicle damage, repairs, and budget management between events.

It's also a Time Warner Interactive release — one of very few Jaguar titles from a major third-party publisher. Only ten companies ever published Jaguar games without Atari co-publishing, and all but Telegames released a single title.

Before you buy

Moderately common, real demand, and consistently undervalued — the Jaguar cart most likely to be worth more in five years than it is now. Time Warner packaging differs from Atari-published titles. Low counterfeit risk.
