About Ishidó: The Way of Stones

Ishido: The Way of Stones is a puzzle video game released in 1990 by Accolade and developed by Publishing International. Ishido is a puzzle board game consisting of a set of 72 stones and a game board of 96 squares. The primary objective of Ishido is to place all 72 stones onto the board of 96 squares. The challenge arises because stones must be placed adjacent to others that they match, either by color or symbol. When the board begins to fill up, this objective is not so easily accomplished.

The cheapest cartridge in the licensed library, an elegant tile game — and NOT a ComLynx title.

Atari developed and published the 1991 Lynx version of the stone-placement puzzle game. It is contemplative, attractive, and completely untimed, which makes it about the most screen-forgiving game on the platform.

Its multiplayer is frequently misreported. The period Lynx FAQ is explicit: any number of players can take turns on ONE console, and they compare scores rather than interacting. There is no link-cable mode. It is on Evercade Collection 1.

The single cheapest way into the licensed library. Complete and sealed copies are also cheap. No authentication concerns whatsoever.
